Andrea Kott to Moderate a Panel Discussion and Anne Kuban to Participate in a Panel Discussion at the 11th Annual Symposium With The Judges

Andrea Kott will moderate a panel discussion with Chief Judge James P. Flannery, Jr. and Judge Thomas More Donnelly along with Anne Kuban to discuss the recent General Administrative Orders enacted since the pandemic. The discussion entitled “State of the Law Division Under COVID: Rules of the Road, Including New Mandatory Pre-Trial Mediation” will focus on the impact of the General Administrative Orders on the Cook County Law Division and their effect on lawyers. Anne Kuban, along with the Cook County Law Division judges, will share insights and perspectives on the state of the law division under the COVID-19 pandemic in the annual symposium hosted by Law Bulletin Media on December 10, 2020.
The virtual event will be led by a panel of sitting Cook County judges and several leading Chicago-based lawyers who will offer advice, field questions, provide advocacy tips and discuss policies and procedures unique to the pandemic situation. Additional topics will include:
- The challenges of motion practice using Zoom, email and phone
- Opportunities for resolution including bench trials and mandatory arbitration in commercial cases
- Virtual jury trials and new rules and trends in the courts
