Stuart’s practice focus on medical malpractice and long-term care. His defense of health care facilities and individual physicians adds to the firm’s existing strength in those areas. Stuart has particular practice expertise with general surgery, oral surgery, and dialysis care, and has a long history of handling complex and catastrophic losses including cases involving obstetrical malpractice, infectious disease and products liability.

Stuart regularly advises clients on compliance and risk management issues and is national supervising counsel for two insurance collectives. He is vice-president of captive “incubator” Midwest Consultants, where he works with pending and existing projects, assisting doctors and health care groups in forming captive insurance companies, risk retention groups (RRGs), and risk purchasing groups (RPGs).

Stuart was raised in Chicago and still calls Chicago home. He is a 1998 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Stuart is the president of the Uptown Chicago Commission and a member of the executive board of Preservation Chicago.
