Alexandra Morelli Elected as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago Bar Association’s @theBar Blog

The Young Lawyers Section of the Chicago Bar Association welcomes BCKS Associate Alexandra Morelli to the incoming group of Executive Council. Alexandra joins BCKS Associate Laura Wibberley as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the CBA’s @theBar blog, a role which Laura has held at the CBA since 2020.

As members of the YLS Executive Council, Alexandra and Laura will lead the platform for YLS members to support and dialogue with each other and to strengthen connections among younger members of the bar through the online publication. The mission for their term is to seek out diverse content for the publication and expand viewership and engagement among young lawyers in the region.

The YLS provides opportunities for professional growth, community service, and networking to its approximately 7,000 members, which include attorneys in their first 10 years of practice and law students. The YLS offers approximately 28 substantive committees, implements over 50 member and public service projects, and hosts numerous seminars and networking events.

Alexandra concentrates her practice in the defense of physicians, hospitals, nurses, and other health care providers against claims of medical negligence. Her medical malpractice defense work involves pre-litigation investigation and counseling, as well as guidance and recommendations to her clients in various risk management strategies. She also handles a wide variety of civil defense litigation where she represents not-for-profit organizations and health care facilities in cases involving premises liability and personal injury.

Laura practices in general litigation with a concentration in the area of medical negligence, serving in the defense of hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. She assists with presentations at healthcare facilities designed to educate practitioners on challenges and concerns in the context of litigation.
