Steven C. Steinback

Steve is a founding partner with Barker, Castro & Steinback, LLC. Steve concentrates his practice in the areas of healthcare defense, medical malpractice litigation, product liability, construction, due process and Section 1981 and 1983 claims and commercial litigation.

Steve has represented hundreds of physicians, nurses and hospitals in state court, federal court, and the Illinois appellate courts. The scope of cases includes wrongful death claims and permanent disability claims covering a wide range of medical specialties. Recent successes include cases involving general surgery, orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine and trauma services. Steve also represents physicians and nurses before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

Steve earned his B.S. from Northwestern University in 1992 and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995. Upon completion of law school, Steve served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Patrick J. Quinn of the Illinois Appellate Court. Thereafter, Steve began his career in litigation defense.

Steve is a frequent speaker at healthcare seminars. Steve also is a member of the Federal Trial Bar, The Society of Trial Lawyers, and the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society.
