Barker, Castro & Steinback, LLC Successfully Defends a Chicago Area Hospital at Trial
Steve Steinback and Jason Gluskin successfully defended a Chicago area hospital in an medical malpractice case. The case involved an alleged delay in treating the patient’s abdominal aortic aneurysm which resulted in rupture and the patient’s eventual death. Plaintiff alleged that the patient should have been admitted to the hospital for testing and treatment of the aneurysm prior to rupture. The defense maintained that it was reasonable to order testing and work-up on an out-patient basis. Plaintiff further alleged agency and institutional negligence against the Hospital. Plaintiff asked the jury for over $9 million in damages. The jury found in favor of all defendants.
