BCS Welcomes Stuart Berman as Partner
Barker, Castro & Steinback proudly announces Stuart Berman has joined the firm as a partner.
Stuart centers his practice on medical malpractice and long-term care. With extensive experience defending healthcare facilities and individual physicians, particularly in matters pertaining to general surgery, oral surgery and dialysis care, he handles complex and catastrophic loss cases.
As the national supervising counsel for two insurance collectives, Stuart regularly advises clients on compliance and risk management issues. He is vice-president of captive “incubator” Midwest Consultants, leading the development of projects designed to assist doctors and healthcare groups in forming captive insurance companies, risk retention groups (RRGs) and risk purchasing groups (RPGs).
Stuart earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998 after receiving his B.A. in American History from Bates College. Prior to joining the BCS team, Stuart worked as a partner at a mid-sized firm’s Chicago office, where he focused on medical malpractice litigation, the formation of physician-oriented management structures and asset protection for individuals.
As a native Chicago resident, Stuart remains highly involved within the Chicagoland community. He serves as the current president of the Uptown Chicago Commission and is a member of the executive board of Preservation Chicago.
