Jeffrey R. Hanes
AssociateMr. Hanes concentrates his practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on defending medical malpractice claims. He has extensive experience representing physicians, practice groups, hospitals, long-term care facilities and other healthcare providers in a variety of medical specialties in both State and Federal court, as well as before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. In addition to his active practice defending claims of professional negligence, Mr. Hanes has successfully represented clients in personal injury actions, premises liability claims, municipal insurance defense, commercial transportation claims and non-commercial auto claims. Mr. Hanes is intimately involved in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit investigations to presenting arguments before the Illinois Appellate Court. He has obtained numerous favorable verdicts at trial as the lead attorney and successfully represented clients in over 100 arbitrations.
Mr. Hanes has been selected by Super Lawyers as an Illinois Rising Star, a distinction that recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.
Mr. Hanes graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where he also served as Lead Articles Editor for Law Review and was awarded best brief in the annual Moot Court competition. Mr. Hanes received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, majoring in biology and earning a certificate in Integrated Liberal Studies.
